Note that if you don’t remove the extra columns then the Pinkie button will never be seen as Button 6 by any application since the driver reserves it to enter the shift states for those columns. Just click the little cross icon at the top of each of the unwanted columns. Open up the programming software by double clicking the the icon in the system tray (looks like a little joystick).
